Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)

Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Board (UPSSSC) conducts a Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) for recruitment to Group 'B' and 'C' posts.
Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) conducts PET exams for the recruitment of Group C and other posts. The exam is conducted twice a year.
 
To take the exam, candidates must register online on the UPSSSC website upsssc.gov.in to apply for PET 2022. Candidates who qualify for the Upsssc PET exam will appear in the main exam for all. Group C vacancies in the state.
 
The marks secured by the candidates in the Preliminary Eligibility Test is valid for one year after the declaration of the result. Candidates are called for Main Examination for various vacancies on the basis of their PET score.

UPSSSC PET Exam Pattern

The exam pattern as per the recent notice released for the PET is as follows:

  • The exam will consist of objective type multiple choice questions
  • A total of 100 such questions will be asked.
  • The duration of the exam shall be 2 hours.
  • Wrong answers will result in a negative marking of 1/4th mark.
  • The difficulty of questions for topics from sr. no. 1 to 9 shall be as per NCERT Secondary/Senior Secondary level.

UPSSSC PET 2022: Eligibility Criteria

1. Minimum Educational Qualification: Only the candidates who have passed High school/ class 10th or any other equivalent exam can apply for UPSSSC PET 2022. Those who have not passed High school cannot apply.

3. Nationality: Applying candidates must be of Indian nationality. Although it is not explicitly stated that the candidate must be a domicile of Uttar Pradesh. Students looking to find placements in Uttar Pradesh can apply for the job since the state is the only location for the job placement.

2. Age Limit: The candidate must be aged between 18 to 40 years as of 1st July 2021. The age relaxations shall be applicable to the following categories:
