Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) Exam
Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state-level examination, which is held once a year, to complete the recruitment process both for the primary (1-5 class) and for the upper primary (6-8 class) level teachers in the Uttar Pradesh Schools.
The Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TET, is the minimum qualification required in India for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for Classes I to VIII. The test is mandatory for teaching jobs in Indian government schools. The TET is conducted by both the central and state governments of India. Most states conduct their own TET. The test is conducted to meet the objectives of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. The TET certificate is valid for lifetime
The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) holds its TET examinations (UPTET) once a year to select primary and junior teachers. The UPTET written exam comprises two papers:
Paper I: for primary level teachers
Paper II: for junior level teachers
Candidates may sit either or both papers.
In 2016, the UPTET written examination was held on 19 December, in two shifts.
In 2017, UPBEB published its examination notification on 22 August, and the written exam was conducted on 15 October.
In 2018, the UPBEB notification was scheduled for publication on 15 September, with applications beginning on 17 September for the written examination on 28 October

UPTET Eligibility Criteria 2021
UPTET has two sets of applicants - Applicants for Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5) and Applicants for Upper Primary Teachers (Classes 6 to 8).
UPTET 2021 Nationality: The aspirants who are belonging to India/ Nepal/ Tibet/ Bhutan, are eligible for the exam.
UPTET 2021 Age Limit: The age of the applicant must be between 18 Years and 35 Years. Candidates who belong to reserved categories would be given age relaxation as per the norms prescribed by the government.
UPTET 2021 Educational Qualification: The educational qualification
both for the paper I and II are different.

UPTET Selection Process 2021
UPTET selection process includes the following stages:
- Written exam: UPTET exam consists of two papers. Paper-I needs to be given by aspirants who plan to teach classes I-V. Paper-II needs to be given by candidates who plan to teach classes VI-VIII. Candidates who plan to teach classes I-VIII need to appear for both the papers.
UPTET result: UPTET result is announced by the exam
- conducting authority on the official website of the exam. Candidates scoring minimum 60 per cent marks in the written test are declared UPTET qualified.
- UPTET eligibility certificate Candidates qualifying the written test are issued an eligibility certificate by the exam authority. Candidates having the certificate are eligible to apply for teaching jobs in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. The validity of UPTET eligibility certificate is five years.
